IT Technical Support Staff

Within the Telecentres Powys 2000 project there is a built in provision for the providing technical help to Telecentres. Telecentres Powys undertake to provide as far as is practicable, technical support to the telecentres in the network. This will include hardware, software, networking, printers and involvement in R&D projects. In the first instance, support will be provide over the phone in order to reduce time and costs involved with travelling to telecentres. Technical staff are happy to provide 'help desk' facilities to Telecentres in the network, and provide technical input and advice into the specification of new equipment and upgrades.

The technical staff are also involved in project planning at a corporate level with such projects as email technical monitoring (Clicknet) Virus related work and security.

All staff involved with the project will help in the development of sustainability plans for telecentres. One of the major aims of the technical staff is to help telecentres to become technically self sufficient and confident to sort out technical problems on their own or in conjunction with other Telecentres in the network.
